Fakahatchee in the Summer
Captured along a tram trail on a summer afternoon, this photograph reveals why Fakahatchee Strand is often called the Amazon of North America. Within Florida’s largest state park, subtropical plants crowd the water’s edge and the landscape seems to unfold in every shade of green—a glimpse into one of the state’s richest and most distinctive wild places.
What drew Colby to this scene was the way the trail disappeared into the dense vegetation, inviting the eye deeper into the landscape. This composition preserves that sense of discovery—the feeling that something unexpected could be waiting just beyond the next bend.
Available in three sizes and printed on ChromaLuxe metal for vivid color, depth, and exceptional detail.
